Unwed, unemployed and pregnant, Rebecca Young is in desperate need of a job. But finding work seems impossible. What is something interesting readers would enjoy learning about you?

I hail from a large family of four brothers and one little sister. Keeping up with those boys? It toughened me up fast. I could only run to my father for help so many times. Consequently, I’m about as far from a ‘girlie girl” as you can get, which makes it hilariously ironic that I’m writing romance. 

What makes up your ideal reading environment? 

Easy. A good book and a ginormous cup of tea and I’m one happy gal. Bonus points if I can have a view of water. Noise? Pfft, it’s no match for a good book. Having grown up in a large family and with four kids of my own – I can be surrounded by chaos, and I’d still be lost in the pages. That’s the power of a good story!

What was your favorite scene to write in this story? And why?

Without a doubt, the porch swing scene where Walker and Rebecca share their past in a heart-to-heart conversation under a moonlight sky. So romantic. 

Why? I love a hero that can be vulnerable yet strong. Walker in this moment is vulnerable about his past yet a strong shoulder for Rebecca to lean on. Both figuratively and physically. 

What unique research was required to write this story? 

While I love books, I’m not a librarian so I leaned heavily on a librarian for answers to the duties. Some of the answers were eye opening! Summer reading programs are no joke!

What encouragement do you hope readers will take away from your story? 

I want readers to close A Family On His Doorstep with a happy sigh after finishing a good book A takeaway from the story would be that God has a tailor-made plan for each one of us. The mistakes in our past? They’re just a chapter in our story, not the ending.
