Candy Apple Blessings is a favorite book in our house, so when I saw that illustrator Maddie Frost had come out with a new book, I jumped at the chance to review it. Just like Candy Apple Blessings explores the wonders of fall, Jelly Bean Blessings highlights the joys of springtime.
Spring is all about new life. What better way to show that to little readers than an adorable touch-and-feel board book? An Easter Prayer, by Amy Parker and illustrated by Alison Edgson, wonderfully captures this spirit.
You’re my Little Sweet Pea is an adorable board book illustrating just how much a parent loves their little one. With delightful rhyme, it makes the perfect bedtime story for the baby in your life.
When do I Love You, illustrated by Marta Cabrol, is a charming twist off the popular children’s book Guess How Much I Love You. Instead of asking how much, this book asks when, or perhaps better, where. From riding in a truck to sailing in a boat, your little one will know that they cannot go any place where your love will not follow.
For a fun children’s board book, take a look at The Cow said Neigh: a farm story by Rory Feek. It’s brightly colored pages, illustrated by Bruno Robert, will draw in young readers. Add a few sound effects and this story can make children giggle at its silliness.
I have always loved the children’s section of a library. Now that I have a child of my own, we get to visit there often. One of the first books we borrowed together was Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman. It is an adorable board book about a group of woodland creatures who have a party in the bear’s den while he snores on.
