Most of these stories are historical romance, some are romantic suspense, and all are set across four different continents.

Dr. Seuss said that in I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!, the prefect quote to celebrate Dr. Suess’ birthday and Read Across America Day while exploring this week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic: Characters Whose Jobs I Wish I Had. I love reading about characters with unique jobs because it gives a sneak peek into those careers. Who knows, perhaps that’s all the impetus someone needs to go someplace new.
Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Today’s theme is the top ten books of 2020. Of the over 100 books I read, it was a challenge to narrow it down to just 10 (plus a bonus novella collection), but here it goes… the award for my favorite books of the year.
The Kissing Tree is a collection of four novellas, each written by a different author: Karen Witemeyer, Regina Jennings, Amanda Dykes, and Nicole Deese. All four stories are centered around a timeless old oak tree in the heart of Texas.

Set the Stars Alight is Amanda Dykes‘s second novel. After reading her first, Whose Waves These Are, especially since it was one of my favorite reads of 2019, I couldn’t wait to read this one. And it did not disappoint!
