Wednesday Waypoints | The End Ingredients – A Peek Behind the Writing Scenes

Today’s Wednesday Waypoints features …

The End Ingredients

Welcome to Wednesday Waypoints, your midweek hygge inspiration. Each week, I’ll share a small collection of things to brighten your day. Whether books I’m loving, favorite blog posts, cozy shopping selections, or even a short excerpt to savor.

What is hygge (pronounced “hoo-gah”)? According to Visit Denmark, “In essence, hygge means creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people.”  So grab a cuppa, slow down, and enjoy.

About Today's Currated List

I’m closing in on THE END of my latest work-in-progress, so here’s a behind-the-scenes peek at a few things that help me cross the finish line.

List

Tea ... Lots of Tea

Tea is my beverage of choice. When time allows, I’ll brew a huge pot, cover it with a cozy, and keep refilling my teacup to keep my tea warm.

My favorite tea is Twinings Chai Black Tea, though sometimes I’ll brew my own chai blend.  I also love Earl Grey and Irish Breakfast. Make it a latte and it’s amazing!

Noise ... Yes, Noise

If it’s too quiet, my mind wanders from its task. Truly. Just as my mom. I would do my homework with white noise, at the bare minimum.

Now my children are my usual background soundtrack, but if not, then I turn on the Outlaw Country and hum along. Nothing like a little Johnny Cash and Alan Jackson to get the creativity flowing!

Movement ... in Nature

I cannot sit at a desk for long, so dictation has become a helpful ally. I can take my phone outside and record while I stroll.

Whether in the backyard or along the lake, a little green or blue goes a long way to spurring my inspiration. Then I’m ready to get back to my computer and turn my dictated words into a story.

Ciao, and thanks for visiting!

I hope you enjoyed this bookish stop—and maybe even discovered your next great read.
