Author Interview with Tina Wheeler

What is something interesting readers would enjoy learning about you?

I took kickboxing classes in my thirties and broke a board with my foot. That led to competing in a tournament and my first bloody nose when my opponent broke the rules and hit me in the face. That led to me emceeing a professional kickboxing/boxing match despite not knowing what to say.

What was the inspiration behind your story?

I wanted to try story tropes I had never used before. After going through a list, I chose twins and amnesia. I was thinking of the movie The Thomas Crown Affair when I added an art gallery. It was fun coming up with a suspense story that would mix those elements all together.

What did you learn while writing this story?

I researched amnesia and learned doctors no longer want you to stay awake for twenty-four hours. Also, a patient may never remember the events right before or after the injury.

What encouragement do you hope readers will take away from your story?

I hope readers will remember that God never abandons you. Sometimes he’ll let something happen that will shake you out of your comfort zone, so you’ll choose an alternative path. When I think about troubling times in my life, I see where a heartbreaking event eventually led to great blessings. He has a plan for us.
