DANIELLE’S REVIEW

I received a complimentary copy of this book from JustRead Tours. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with FTC guidelines.

A Christmas Bargain by Mindy Obenhaus is the second book in her Hope Crossing series.

A Christmas tree farm, Christmas, and a sweet little baby — what’s not to love about this book! Annalise is a strong woman who has a lot thrown at her. Her past has stunted her ability to trust the kindness of those who offer help. Hawkins, who we met in the first book in the series, The Cowgirl’s Redemption, has returned home. He has no interested in helping Annalise, but when trouble keeps finding her, he can’t not help her.

I loved how a series of unfortunate events kept throwing those two together. As if the world (or Providence) was playing matchmaker. Of course, neither was interested, but the longer they spent together, the more a Christmas romance was in the air. The author did a wonderful job of slowly building the romance and, even when things looked dire between them, she’d laid the groundwork for a lovely conclusion.

If you love a good Christmas romance, then definitely grab a copy of A Christmas Bargain. One caveat. I would suggest reading The Cowgirl’s Redemption first because A Christmas Bargain does contain a spoiler. It’s also a chance to meet Hawkins and I think you’ll begin to like him from that first book—and hope for his happily ever after—just like I did.

  1. I always enjoy a story where “circumstances” keep bringing the prospective couple together in spite of how hard they try to avoid each other. God has other plans, though. Christmas stories and romances are always better with a baby and/or children in the mix.
