An Unlikely Alliance by Toni Shiloh is a Love Inspired sweet romance that pairs with An Unlikely Proposal. It is also part of the Love Inspired K9 Companions collection.

I loved this story! Watching how the characters transition from enemies to more had me rooting for both of them all the way. At first, both Jalissa and Rider seemed a little annoying—even more so to each other—and I liked that the reader felt that, especially with the way the story ended.

As the romance unfolds, we find out why they are both prickly pears and I loved the characters for it. Jalissa especially, since she needs the help of a K9 Companion. I try to avoid spoilers, so I’ll just say that that Rider’s actions toward Jalissa at one point totally made me tear up! Ah, and it was such a sweet, happy ending!!

If you enjoy enemies-to-lovers type stories, you’ll adore this book. If it’s not your favorite trope, give the first few chapters a chance because the story and the writing, will draw you right in and won’t let you put the book down. I can’t wait to read more from Toni Shiloh (and she has several upcoming stories)!
