My Review

Her Darling Mr. Day is the second book in Grace Hitchcock’s American Royalty series. I’ve been looking forward to this book after reading My Dear Miss Dupre. In fact, I highly recommend reading My Dear Miss Dupre before reading Her Darling Mr. Day so you don’t risk any spoilers.

Going into this story, I was already feeling that Flora and Teddy both deserve a happily ever after after all that happened in the previous book, but whether they will finally find one … well, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome, even though Flora has her heart set on Teddy.

Admittedly, I found the girls in Flora’s way were highly annoying, but that’s probably because I wanted Flora and Teddy to end up together so much. And the men who wanted to take Flora away from Teddy … I wanted to tell them to go find another girl! Most of all, I wished Teddy and Flora could finally land on the same page at the same time and realize they were would happiest together.

Likely due to all my hoping, I did find story a bit exhausting to read because of all the drama. There’s a bit of suspense, especially toward the end. And I love the pirate theme threaded throughout. For fans of My Dear Miss Dupre, which was a twist off the Bachelorette, then My Darling Mr. Day is definitely for you!
