Never Too Late is the third book in Susan L. Tuttle’s Along Came Love series. This contemporary romance features Rachel Stark, who we’ve met in the previous two books. Now the widow is facing an empty nest and an uncertain future. She decides to help her best friend, Evan Wayne, who is recovering from a gunshot wound. As they help each other on a community project, their friendship takes a romantic turn.
Never Too Late is a romance with a side of mystery. Since the story features coming to the aid of the parents of kidnapped and missing children, it has a painful side. Especially since Rachel has lost a child of her own. That makes this story more intense than the past stories in the series. The realness, however, made me root for Evan and Rachel and hope they could both find a future happiness together.
My favorite part of the story is the language of flowers that Rachel delves into with her painting. I absolutely love how the author interweaves that with Rachel’s community project. And the romance.
Though Never Too Late is part of a series, you don’t need to read the past two books in order to enjoy this one. However, the past two were great reads, so I’d recommend the whole series!
