Right Here Waiting by Michelle Sass Aleckson is the sixth book in the Deep Haven Collection, from Susan May Warren. Nick Dahlquist is a dog musher and on the verge of losing everything. Jae Lynn Washington has been admiring Nick from a distance, following his social media, and messaging with him for over a year. When she’s hired as the new CRT helicopter pilot in Deep Haven, she means to tell Nick she’s the one to whom he’s been writing, but circumstances keep her quiet.
I love snowy stories and stories about dogs and dog sledders and ones with winter survival and Right Here Waiting has all of that! It was such an engaging story that had me rooting for both characters, and their dogs. I wasn’t as fond of how long Jae kept her secret… but I loved the twist of how they were writing to each other way before they ever met. And the ending has an awesome cameo from one of Susan May Warren’s other books. No spoilers, though!
If you love snow dog stories, this is a wonderful book. I hope you’ll enjoy it, too!
