“You’ve been here since dawn.”

“I wanted everything to be perfect.”

“And it was.” Much like her. “I have to admit, I was skeptical.”

“You skeptical? No way.”

“All right, sassy.” Releasing her hand, he swept a lock of that gorgeous red hair away from her face. “What
you did here… You have a gift, Paisley. Not everyone can take a run-down barn and turn it into something
beautiful.”

“Oh, this barn is not run-down.”

“Still, you heard what Samantha said. This was better than what they’d originally planned.”

She was quiet for a moment. “That’s why I enjoy planning weddings. Seeing the awestruck looks on the
couples’ faces and knowing that I made their dreams come true is very satisfying.”

If he were a better man, he’d do everything in his power to make her dreams come true. “You’re an amazing
woman, Paisley. I’m sorry I ever doubted you.”

A Future to Fight For by Mindy Obenhaus is a sweet enemies-to-lovers romance. Both Paisley Wainwright and Crockett Devereaux have designs on the local castle. They truly dislike one another, but the owners require them to work together.

A lot of times it seems the enemies-to-lovers trope is based on fighting attraction than fighting each other. In A Future to Fight For their dislike for one another is based on something much different: perception. As the two get to know one another, they see the person behind the one they hated (or thought hated them). It’s fun to watch their idea of the other person change, whether welcomed or not.

Both Crockett and Paisley—especially Paisley—have gone through incredibly difficult things. Seeing how their past could disrupt their future is heartbreaking. Fortunately this is a sweet romance and we know what that means for the ending. The getting there is a wonderful story of fighting for a better future.
