An Unlikely Proposal by Toni Shiloh is a sweet romance about two best friends. Trinity Davis and Omar Young each has a major dilemma they cannot afford by themselves, so when when Omar has the wild suggestion to get married, their long-time friendship gets its biggest test yet.

Of the various romance tropes, marriage of convenience is one of my favorites. It’s one reason I love historical romance – contemporary stories don’t feature that trope all that often. But An Unlikely Proposal does! A contemporary marriage of convenience? That had me hooked from the very start.

While Trinity and Omar originally determine to keep their “marriage” in the friend zone, their hearts have other plans. Can their friendship withstand that change of heart? With so much at stake, it’s no wonder neither wants to risk it.

I also loved the age of Omar’s two little girls. Similar in age to my own kiddos, I could relate to much of the parental struggles both Omar and Trinity face. It added a humor and preciousness to the story.

If you’re looking for a delightful friendship-marriage of convenience story, definitely grab a copy of An Unlikely Proposal!
