Take a Chance on Me is the prequel novella for Becky Wade‘s new Misty River Romance series. Penelope Quinn is Misty River’s resident pie extraordinaire and doting, if inexperienced, aunt to baby Madeline. Eli Price is an Air Force pilot who fell for Penelope before he deployed to Syria several months ago. When the wife of Penelope’s brother/Eli’s best friend is suddenly taken ill, Penelope and Eli are forced to interact.

Even though Eli and Penelope dated before he deployed, Eli is the last person Penelope wants to see. Misty River is not his home and he wouldn’t stay. She knew that and refused to get involved with him again just to watch him leave. Eli has other plans. He hates being away from Penelope and sets his sights on winning her over.
Take a Chance on Me is a sweet romance with fun characters. Penelope has a great personality and Eli is the perfect counterbalance to her. I like how Eli tries to convince Penelope to give him another chance without making it feel like he’s stalking her. Instead, he works to win her over in a way that meets her needs. But will he succeed? That is the question!
I enjoyed Becky Wade’s writing and now that we’ve met Sam in Take a Chance on Me, I’m excited to learn more of his story in Misty River Romance‘s first full-length novel Stay with Me. Stay tuned for my review later this week and in the meantime, check out this novella to get a taste of Misty River.
