Always Look Twice by Elizabeth Goddard is book two in her Uncommon Justice series. Book one, Never Let Go, introduced us to Heath McKade. Always Look Twice is his story.

Harper Reynolds is on hiatus from her forensic photographer job when she captures a murder on her camera. The police aren’t positive they believe her when she loses her camera, but her childhood friend, Heath, stands by her.

Heath might believe Harper, but he hesitates to be the one to protect her. He wants to, but doesn’t trust that he’ll succeed. Even though he’s a former Green Beret. However, he can’t let Harper go it alone, not when he sees someone in need. Someone who helped him through one of the toughest times of his life.

I liked Heath’s character. The loyalty he showed was impressive. He may have doubted his abilities, but that only made his loyalty that much more impressive. The plot itself keeps twisting and turning. As soon as I began to suspect the bad guy, something would happen that changed my mind.

If you enjoy Romantic Suspense, pick up a copy of Always Look Twice. It’s a good read! Book three, Don’t Keep Silent, releases July 2020!
