All I can say after finishing Kings Falling by Ronie Kendig is: Ahhhh! That ending!

This is the type of book where most any information about it can turn into a spoiler. So, I will try not to say much at all while also encouraging you to read the book because – that ending!

Kings Falling is the second book in Ronie Kendig’s The Book of the Wars series. The Reaper Team is trying to stop a coalition bent on creating their own Armageddon. Where that all starts is laid out in the first book in the series, Storm Rising, so I highly recommend reading the books in order.

Leif Metcalfe leads Reaper, but all is not okay in his life. What does that cryptic information mean? Well, to avoid any spoilers, you’ll have to read the book. I will say that Leif, or Runt, as he’s known, is a favorite character of mine. And someone you’ll have met in the previous series. More on that next.

The rest of Reaper is struggling with their own relational dynamics as well as how to do the job required of them. To get the full complexity of the characters, you’ll want to go back to the previous series, The Tox Files. Why? Because by reading The Book of the Wars series first, you’ll inadvertently read a whole bunch of spoilers, especially a super major one from the end of the third Tox Files book.

While I haven’t said much about the story, I can say that it is a thriller. Military suspense. A bit of romance. But overall, Ronie Kendig does a masterful job of making you feel like you’re in the room with the characters. You can see their actions. You get to know them. And because of that, be prepared to have your heart in the author’s hands. No spoilers. Just be prepared.

Why?

Because That Ending!

Needless to say, November can’t come fast enough since that’s when Soul Raging comes out. Until then, go get caught up so you’re ready, too!
