French Fried is the second installment of the Ethnic Eats series by Kylie Logan. The Terminal at the Tracks is celebrating French cuisine with help from the best friend of Laural Inwood’s Aunt Sophie. But Raquel “Rocky” Arnaud is acting strange. Sophie notices. Laural notices. And the handsome Declan Fury notices. But no one knows why her behavior has changed.
Rocky’s strange activity continues when she fails to attend the town’s fireworks display. Laural is worried and Declan refuses to let her track down Rocky on her own. When they reach Rocky’s home, they find the reason she didn’t meet them: she is dead.
At first, the cops think suicide. Laural is sure they are wrong and she aims to prove it. Clue by clue, she works to unravel the reasons for Rocky’s behavior, hoping it will lead to the murderer. But Laurel may end up the next victim if she’s not careful.
French Fried is a twisting mystery that entwines the past with the present, explores the depth of friendship, and reveals what makes a home. It is a great second book in the Ethnic Eats mystery series.
