Meet Your Baker is the first book in Ellie Alexander‘s Bakeshop Mystery series. Having loved other books by Ellie Alexander, I wanted to give the long-running Bakeshop Mystery series a try. Now I can’t wait to read book two.
Juliet “Jules” Capshaw returns to her hometown after discovering her husband had kept a huge secret from her. She looks forward to spending time helping her widowed mother run the family bakery, but she things aren’t what she remembers from her childhood.
Things get even weirder when she stumbles upon a dead body on the bakery floor. Determined to get to the bottom of what got the woman mudered and why her mother is acting so strange, Jules begins her own investigation.
But those questions result in getting attacked, locked in rooms, and even more questions. Will she be able to untangle the truth before the murder puts an end to her?
True to the other books I’ve read by Ellie Alexander, I truly enjoyed Meet Your Baker. Jules is a great character whose story I can’t wait to continue reading in the next installment of the Bakeshop Mystery series. With nine books in the series, I have many more stories to enjoy.
