As promised, here are the finer details for the Gathering of Authors this Saturday. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. come to the Wisconsin Downtown Open House. In Plymouth, there will be a variety of events, including a gathering of several local authors who will share their books with visitors.
Each author will provide a reading of their work at various points throughout the day. For example, I will be reading from The Vanishing Kidnapper at noon (Seranya’s) and 2 p.m. (Book Heads). Authors will also be available to sign their books – though you will have to purchase the book through either Seranya’s or Book Heads prior to having it signed.
Not sure if there will be a book for you? If a Western mystery (The Vanishing Kidnapper) isn’t your thing, perhaps one of the other authors will meet your tastes. There will be readings from memoirs covering various topics, romance, photography, and other types of fiction, all written by local authors. Visit the event page for more details.
What else is there to do besides attend the Gathering of Authors? There will be historical building tours, live music, brewery tour, afternoon family craft event, stories from a fireman and policeman, and Clydesdale-drawn wagon rides. Weather.com says it should be dry, but might be chilly, so bring a coat to fully enjoy the day.
Upon arriving in Plymouth, be sure to pick up your Passport to the day’s events. That will give you an opportunity to enter give-aways and provide you a list of activity locations. I hope to see you there!
